VlgeRent comes from the team behind VlgeHOA. After years of helping communities run themselves, we kept hearing the same thing from the owners inside them: the rental side was still spreadsheets and text messages.
Vlge started with homeowners associations. We built VlgeHOA because board members and residents deserved software that was complete, honest about its pricing, and actually pleasant to use. Along the way we built something we called the Home Passport: a record of each home's appliances, systems, finishes, and service history that stays with the property.
Then the landlords found us. Owners who rented out a condo in one of our communities, or who had two or three houses across town, asked the same question: why doesn't my rental software know any of this? Their tools knew the rent was $1,850. They did not know the dishwasher was a Bosch still under warranty, that the furnace filter was a 16x25x1, or that the last plumber had already been out twice for the same drain.
So we built VlgeRent on the same foundation: rent collection, leases and e-signature, maintenance, messaging, documents, and bookkeeping - with the Home Passport at the center. One plan, unlimited doors, free for tenants, and a bridge to the HOA when there is one.
Tenants change. The water heater does not. Every other rental tool organizes around the lease; we organize around the property, so the knowledge survives turnover.
Most landlords in America own a handful of doors and manage them between a job and a family. Our defaults, our price, and our support are built for that person, not for a leasing office.
Software that generates more notifications is not helping. We measure success by requests that never need to be opened because the tenant found the answer.
Tenants never pay to use the portal, see fees before they pay, and keep their own records. A good tenant experience is how a landlord keeps a good tenant.
